SCCL emerged as one of the best-performing State-owned entities in the country in recent times. It outstripped the eight top ‘Maharatnas’ companies such as Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Coal India Limited, in terms of growth in sales and profits. The company recorded its highest-ever coal production, transport, sales and profit after the formation of Telangana State and proactive measures taken by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
