Rajanna-Sircilla: Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao, who participated in Rythu Bandhu programmes in Illanthakunta and Vemulwada mandals, distributed cheques to farmers on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering at Hanumajipeta of Vemulwada mandal, Minister said it was a great opportunity for him to take part in a programme in Hanumajipet, which gave birth to two removed personalities renowned writer and Gyanpeeth awardee Dr C Narayana Reddy and Oggu Katha artist Midde Ramulu. He promised to develop the village by allocating special funds.
Talking about Rythu Bandhu, Rama Rao said it was a great scheme introduced during his ten years tenure as MLA. Another scheme, Rs 5 lakh insurance to farmers, is also going to be launched on June 2 on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day.
Stating that Kaleshwaram project was going on fast track mode, he assured that Godavari water would be supplied to agricultural lands by next yasangi season. Some 46,000 tanks have been renovated under Mission Kakatiya project which was also appreciated by Neethi Aayog, Minister informed.
Thought the State government was providing all kind of assistance to farmers, providing minimum support price was in the hand of Central government.
Hereafter, Farmers Coordination Committee members would help farmers to get MSP, he said and demanded the Union government to link NREGS to agriculture sector.
