Hyderabad: From next week, residents’ welfare associations and citizens will get a new platform to get their civic problems addressed in their respective municipal circles under the ‘Mana Nagaram / Apna Shehar’ programme.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister (MA&UD), KT Rama Rao on Monday tweeted “Will be conducting series of town hall meetings across various circles in the city from next week,”
He further added that there will be direct interaction with resident welfare associations, citizens and NGOs to ensure people’s priorities are aligned with municipal administration.
A senior official from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation said said these initiatives help in addressing citizens’ grievances. Besides to ensure overall development, people should work in alignment with officials, he said.
These weekly programmes will be conducted in all the municipal circles of GHMC in phased manner. Soon after completion of the programmes in few circles, others will be identified, he explained.
In programmes like Prajavani, which are conducted by GHMC, people generally come up with complaints pertaining to their individual property. But the Mana Nagaram programmes will facilitate in addressing issues pertaining to a colony, an area or locality, besides accepting individual complaints, he added.
