Mahabubnagar: Health Minister C Laxma Reddy laid the foundation stone for construction of 300 2-BHK houses for the poor at Siddayapally village in Bhootpur mandal on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, he said that every family eligible for the free housing scheme would get a 2-BHK house. He explained elaborately about the various welfare schemes being introduced by the State government with respect to education, health and other sectors.

He criticised former Minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy for Congress party’s double standards in obstructing projects by going to courts on one side and then questioning the State government why projects were not being built sooner.

He said the Congress leaders in Palamuru region were responsible for the backwardness of the district and added that it was only after the formation of Telangana that the government had made development of Palamuru on top priority.

Devarkadra MLA Ala Venkateshwar Reddy accompanied him during the event.
