Kamareddy: Illegal sand miners attacked four forest officials when they try to prevent illegal sand mining in Parmalla stream in Gandhari mandal of Kamareddy district.

Gandhari FRO Anuradha said that according to the reliable information their staff conducted inspection on Tuesday night that illegal sand mining is being carried out from Parmalla stream of Parmalla tanda.

A team of four members led by Section Officer Gopal, two beat officers Majid, Yadagiri and home guard Krishna visited the spot. Seeing them, seven people belonging to Parmalla village — Hari Singh, Vinod, Srikanth, Vijaykanth, Ravi, Surender and Santhosh snatched the lathis from the forest staff and attacked them with the sticks and ran away from the spot. Four forest staff got seriously injured in this incident.

Forest staff filed a complaint at Gandhari police station, following which police registered a case against seven people.
