Hyderabad: Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said that the 2019 Lok Sabha elections will make a great difference to India.
Addressing professionals at a programme ‘Telangana for Modi’ organised by Modi Army here, Nirmala Sitharaman said people had given a landmark majority to the BJP in 2014 and should extend the same support to the party to continue the good work which was started five years ago.
She appealed to all the professionals to compare the Modi government with previous governments and compare Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the opposition party’s potential Prime Ministerial candidate before casting their vote. “Modi’s five year governance is entirely different from the UPA’s 10 year governance earlier and people can clearly see the rapid change which the country has seen in the past five years under the NDA government,” she said, adding that the NDA government had changed the way other countries look at India.
“People should decide who they want to vote – whether they want to vote for a party that has supported China during Doklam issue, asked proof for surgical strike and airstrike or vote for a party which has taken action against terrorists and Pakistan,” she said.
“We have Opposition parties that suspect the surgical strike and leaders keep on doubting the credibility of their own countrymen,” she said, and appealed to all the professionals to cast their votes without going away for a long weekend. “Please do your duty of casting vote in the polls,” she added.
Earlier, addressing Hyderabad and Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency workers, Nirmala Sitharaman said parties which were into dynasty politics will always think of their family instead of the country.
“BJP is the only national party which doesn’t have dynasty politics, where every leader gets an opportunity to serve the country,” she said.
