Make sure reforms reach public: KTR

The Minister said when public policies were understood, transparency among officials and awareness on municipality would increase

Hyderabad: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), KT Rama Rao has asked the officials to continue with various developmental works taken up and also ensure that the administrative reforms taken up by the government reached the public.

During a review meeting with senior officials in MA&UD, GHMC, HMWSSB and HMRL here on Wednesday, Rao instructed officials to take details about implementation of facilities brought in by the government in the Municipal Act.

The Minister said when public policies were understood, transparency among officials and awareness on municipality would increase. He directed the officials to call a meeting with all Municipal Commissioners soon.

The senior officials from all departments apprised Rao about various activities and progress of the ongoing projects. Director of Municipal Administration Dr TK Sridevi listed out the works on installation of LED lights in cities, establishment of parks, safeguarding vacant lands in layouts, creation of open gyms and development of cemeteries. MA&UD Principal Secretary, Arvind Kumar explained the plans and propoals of the HMDA.
