Making way for digitisation

DEFI presents to five computers to Sangareddy library.

Sangareddy: Digital Empowerment Foundation of India (DEFI) has donated five computers to district library located in Sangareddy town.

During a session conducted by the DEFI on “Digital Library and IT” on the premises of the library today, the DEFI project director, New Delhi, Manikanta has observed that the digitisation of all the books is compulsory these days since most people prefer to read the books online. In the days of information technology revolution in the world, he said that making every text digital is mandatory, so that it can be accessed from across the globe.

Manikanta has handed over the five computers to Joint Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu and C Vasundara, secretary of district libraries on this occasion. The Joint Collector thanked the DEFI for organising such an informative session for library staff of Sangareddy district.
