Warangal Urban: A man attempted suicide by slitting his throat at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial at Adalat Junction in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.

The victim, Masam Venkateshwarlu, a resident of Alamkhanipet of Nekkoda mandal of Warangal Rural, was rushed to MGM Hospital by the passersby, and his condition is said to be out of danger.

In a note found in his bag, he alleged that Narsampet MLA (TRS) Peddi Sudarshan Reddy was the reason for his suicide attempt. The Subedari police registered a case. When contacted, Sudarshan Reddy’s PRO said the MLA was in no way connected with the incident.

“Venkateshwarlu’s son, who was working as a watchman with the Orugallu District Cooperative Marketing Society (ODCMS) at Narsampet centre, lost his job due to various reasons. When Venkateshwarlu met the MLA at Alamkhanipet village, the MLA assured him that he would see that his son would get the job again. But we don’t know what forced him to attempt suicide,” he added.
