Man axes father to death in Asifabad

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A man was booked for hacking his father to death over a family dispute at Tungeda village in Rebbena mandal of KB Asifabad district on Thursday.

Rebbena Sub-Inspector D Ramesh said that the deceased was Chandraiah (75), a farmer and the accused was his younger son Pudari Mahesh, a native of Tungeda village.

Chandraiah died on the spot when his son attacked him with an axe when he was asleep. Mahesh was quarrelling with his father over share in property and was upset for delaying his wedding for quite long time. He was idle and addicted to liquor. He in fit of rage axed Chandraiah, resulting instantaneous death for the latter.

The farmer is survived by a wife and four sons.

Following a complainant Pudari Jayakar, the eldest son of Chandraiah, a case was registered against Mahesh. Investigations got underway.
