Man booked for raping mother-in-law in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 48-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her son-in-law at their residence in Punjagutta on Friday.

The victim stays with her daughter and son-in-law, Hardik Gandhi, and their two-year-old son in Srinagar Colony and takes care of the toddler when the couple go for work.

As the victim is suffering from illness, she regularly takes anti-depressant tablets.

Even on Thursday night, after her daughter left for work, she took pills and went off to sleep when the suspect allegedly sexually exploited her.

Her daughter who returned home on Friday morning found her crying and enquired what happened. It was then that the victim revealed her ordeal.

When the daughter confronted her husband, he confessed to misbehaving and sexually exploiting her and sought forgiveness, police said. He later left the house saying he will divorce his wife.

Based on the victim’s complaint, the Punjagutta police booked a case and are investigating.
