Hyderabad: A 29-year-old person allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at a wedding decoration manufacturing unit in New Balaji Nagar under the Saidabad police station limits, here, on Sunday.

The deceased, identified as G Sudheer Chary alias Chintu, a resident of Madannapet, was running the unit. On Saturday night, he left home informing his parents that he was going to attend to some pending work.

According to Saidabad Sub-Inspector A Rajender Naik, on Sunday morning a team was despatched after receiving information that a person was found hanging on the unit premises.

“He reached unit around 10 pm on Saturday. His bike was parked outside and nobody else was present there. The workers who came in the morning alerted the local residents, who in turn informed the police,” he said.

The body recovered was shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy. Based on a complaint lodged by Chary’s relatives, police have booked a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of Indian Penal Code and the investigation is on.

The family members said that some unknown persons were behind Chary’s death and requested the police to consider the case as a murder. However, the SI said, the clues so far obtained indicated that Chary’s death was a clear case of suicide. “However, we are also probing the case considering the doubts raised by the relatives of the deceased,” he added.
