Man held for thefts in hostels in Hyderabad

The suspect allegedly started looking for hostel rooms for himself, and sometimes he used to be invited by the hostel staff to check the ambience of the rooms.

Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police arrested a person on Friday who was allegedly involved in the theft of laptops and cell phones from different boys’ hostels across the city.

According to the police, the suspect, Gopi Pavan (27), used to work as a manager on duty (MOD) in various hospitals, during which he hatched the plan to steal laptops and cell phones from hostels.

The suspect allegedly started looking for hostel rooms for himself, and sometimes he used to be invited by the hostel staff to check the ambience of the rooms. During his visit, he used to check all the rooms in the hostel. He stole laptops and phones when nobody was around.
The suspect was involved in 10 thefts this year in the city. The police seized 15 laptops and three phones from him.
