Man in isolation ward dies of heart stroke in Nizamabad

Authorities said he suffered a heart stroke. Grief stricken relatives ransacked the isolation centre and damaged the furniture. The relatives who touched the body were later isolated.

Nizamabad: A man in an isolation centre died of possibly a heart stroke and his relatives went berserk and ransacked the isolation centre here on Monday. Officials were planning to send him to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for conduct of tests, when collapsed.

Authorities said he suffered a heart stroke. Grief stricken relatives ransacked the isolation centre and damaged the furniture. The relatives who touched the body were later isolated.

Doctors informed the relatives that the man who died could have suffered a stroke, but not due to coronavirus as he was healthy, but needed to be isolated as he came in contact with some people who went to Delhi along with a person who contracted the virus. It was a precautionary measure, they were told.

Authorities asked people to contact the control room at GGH hospital on 08462-220183.
