Telangana: Man kills wife, calls son and then commits suicide in Siddipet

Villagers said the elderly couple, who reportedly had no financial problems and health issues, used to argue with each other over petty issues. Over such an argument, the suspect attacked his wife with an axe.

Siddipet: In a bizarre incident an aged person axed his wife to death, called his son to inform about the incident and later ended his life by slitting his throat in Dharmaram village of Maddur mandal in Siddipet district on Monday night, police said.

The gory incident was reportedly because of some argument over a petty issue between the aged couple, identified as Anandadasu Uppalaiah (62) and his wife Sathavva (50). The couple was leading a comfortable life with their three daughters and two sons living in Hyderabad, police said.

Villagers said the elderly couple, who reportedly had no financial problems and health issues, used to argue with each other over petty issues. Over such an argument, the suspect attacked his wife with an axe on Monday late night.

Later Uppalaiah called his elder son Bhaskar and informed him about the incident before committing suicide half an hour later.

Following this, Bhaskar called the neighbours and urged them rush to his home to know what exactly happened. When they rushed to the house, neighbours found the elderly couple in a pool of blood.The whole village woke up midnight to hear the shocking news. As the news spread like wildfire, all the villagers have rushed to the spot.

ACP, Husnabad, Mahendar, CI, Chandrashekar, SI, Veerenbar have inspected the crime scene. The bodies were shifted to Area Hospital Husnabad to perform postmortem. A case was registered and further investigation is on.
