Mancherial: Mancherial Area Hospital, the only source of medical services for eastern parts of erstwhile Adilabad which now form Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts, has undergone a remarkable makeover. The beautiful yet well-lit interiors and amenities can match that of a corporate hospital, giving an entirely pleasant feel to patients. The corridors of the area hospital are illuminated with modern lamps. Walls are painted vibrant paints and they are filled with attractive drawings. The entrance has also been renovated. The unprecedented transformation elevated the beauty of the spacious and dull interiors. It will help the patients, who were struggling to move in rather gloomy and dull interiors, to recover any disease quicker than the past.
Apart from the transformation in the appearance, a slew of new amenities were created for the benefit of patients. A separate laboratory, meant for the pregnant women, was also created. A modern mechanized laundry system and dedicated mother and child health services block, special neonatal care unit was formed. In addition, a special ward for patients of thalassemia and sickle-cell-affected children was also created.
By roping in a Hyderabad based interior designing firm, Collector RV Karnan embarked on the mission redo, a few months back. A sum of Rs 35 lakh was spent in order to renovate the hospital. “The objective is to provide a pleasant ambiance to the patients of this hospital. The negative opinion on the outlook of the government hospitals can be reversed by taking simple steps. They can draw people on par with corporate ones. This credit goes to interior designers, doctors and employees of the hospital,” Karnan told ‘Telangana Today.’
