Many pledge to donate organs

Khammam/Kothagudem: Marking the birthday of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, many people enrolled their names for organ donation on Sunday.

With the Chief Minister appealing to the public and TRS workers not to organise celebrations as a mark of respect to the martyred CRPF jawans, party workers cancelled birthday celebrations and conducted charitable programmes.

At a programme organised at Annam Foundation by Jeevan Dan, Telangana Jagruti and Namaste Telangana, several people pledged to donate their organs.

Meanwhile, Khammam Municipal Corporation corporator K Murali organised a plantation drive in the 16th division of the city in which many TRS workers took part.

At Yellandu in Kothagudem district, District Library Chairman D Rajender along with others planted saplings marking the Chief Minister’s birthday. Earlier in the day, a blood donation camp was organised by local TRS party leaders.

Nearly 100 auto drivers joined the TRS on the occasion.
