Hyderabad: The State government is taking all possible measures to ensure that the increasing numbers of Covid-19 infections are contained in Hyderabad at the earliest, Health Minister, Eatala Rajender on Friday assured.
In the backdrop of rising cases of coronavirus, Rajender reviewed the containment measures with senior health officials and urged general public not to panic but keep taking all precautions at personal level. He directed health officials to ensure health care workers are available in full strength at all government hospitals during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The Minister on Friday also spoke to Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan and congratulated him for getting elected as the Chairman, Executive Board of World Health Organisation (WHO).
While interacting with Dr Harsh Vardhan, Rajender requested MOHFW to reduce quarantine period from 14 days to seven days for foreign evacuees who have chronic health issues.
“We have kept all the foreign evacuees in hotels for 14-day quarantine period. Some of them, however, have cancer, chronic kidney disease and other complicated ailments. A few women are pregnant and they are facing health complications during their stay,” he said.
