Medical shop selling sanitisers at higher rates fined in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: Drug Control Authority officials imposed Rs 25,000 penalty on a medical shop owner for selling sanitizers at a higher price in Nizamabad.

DCA Additional Director Dr. Rajyalakshmi conducted raids on medical shops along with drug inspectors B Praveen and N. Hemalatha on Saturday in Nizamabad city and found that sanitizers, mask were sold at higher rates and that the shops were also selling of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine without prescriptions.

Drug control team observed that Medicity medical shop owner was selling sanitizers at a higher price and levied a penalty of Rs 25,000 for violating essential commodities act and selling sanitizers at higher rates. According to the government orders, medical shop owners should not sell 200 ML sanitizer for more than Rs 100.
