Hyderabad: Authorities have sounded an alert over seasonal diseases for the entire health machinery in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the State.

Health Minister C Laxma Reddy on Monday, while directing officials to be on toes, urged the public to take basic precautionary measures at home and outside.

The Minister also pointed out that healthcare centres at various levels in the State have enough stocks of medicines and rapid diagnostic kits for exigencies.

In a review meeting on seasonal ailments, Laxma Reddy said special focus was on agency areas where doctors, healthcare workers and officials were directed to be accessible. At outpatient facilities, there were enough stocks of IV fluids, ORS solutions and anti-viral medicines, he said.

With tribal regions most susceptible for the outbreak of various kinds of ailments, the health authorities said District Collectors, ITDA Department, District Medical and Health Officers had been put on alert and were directed by the Minister to hold regular meetings for stock-taking exercise.
