Minister Niranjan Reddy’s convoy gunman tested positive to coronavirus

The Head Constable had developed symptoms of fever 10 days ago and has been staying at his residence in Srinivasa Colony in Mahabubnagar since then.

Mahabubnagar: An AR Head Constable working as a gunman in Agriculture Minister Niranjan Reddy’s convoy pilot vehicle has been tested positive to Covid-19 on Monday.

The Head Constable had developed symptoms of fever 10 days ago and has been staying at his residence in Srinivasa Colony in Mahabubnagar since then. He got tested for Covid-19 on Sunday, the results of which came back positive on Monday.

According to people close to the minister, there was no chance of Minister Niranjan Reddy contracting the virus, as the gunman had not come close to him. Rest of the gunmen who travelled with the infected patient have been home quarantined.
