Jayashankar Bhupalpally: Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao introduced the 30-day action plan for the development of villages, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Thursday called on youngsters to do ‘Shramadanam’ (voluntary contribution of labour for public cause) for one-day in their respective villages.
As a part of the 30-day action plan programme, the Minister participated in Gram Sabha held at Kataram mandal headquarters in the city on Thursday.
Addressing the villagers, the Minister said that the villagers must make efforts to develop their villages. “You should keep the environs clean and tidy. You should not litter streets and public spaces. I request you, mainly the youth, to come forward and do ‘Shramadanam’ in the village for clean and hygienic environs,” he added.
Saying that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to sanction one tractor to each village, he asked the villagers to utilise it to dump the garbage and other needs to maintain the sanitation in the village. “If need be, we will give two tractors to Kataram as it is a big village,” he added. He also asked the villagers to follow the resolutions taken by the Gram Sabha. He stressed on the utilization of the Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) in the maintenance of sanitary conditions.
Dayakar Rao also listed out various schemes being implemented by the State government for the welfare of the people and also development projects for the development of the State. The Minister asked the Gram Panchayat officials and public representatives to prepare a detailed action plan for 30 days and implement them. Gram Panchayats would be given Rs 339 crore fund, he added.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Jakku Sriharshini, MLA D Sridhar Babu, District Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu and other officials attended the programme.
