Irrigation Minister promises to sanction lift scheme to fill water in moat around Warangal Fort

Warangal: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday promised to sanction a new lift scheme to fill the moat around Warangal Fort with Devadula water. He also assured that more double bedroom houses would be allotted to the Warangal East Assembly constituency in the next phase after March.

Harish Rao along with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao laid foundation for the construction of the road under bridge (RUB) in the Warangal East constituency on Saturday.

Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, Harish Rao said that MLA Konda Surekha and her husband MLC Muralidhar Rao have been striving a lot for the development of the constituency which was neglected in the past. “Due to the efforts of the Konda family, nearly Rs 150 crore development works are being taken up in the constituency,” he said and assured people that more number of them would get Asara pension.

Earlier in the day, addressing a meeting at Vanchanagiri in Parvathagiri mandal, Harish Rao said that 50,000 acres of the land would get Kaleshwaram water in Wardhannapet constituency.

“The government has released RS 50 crore for the canal modernisation in Wardhannapet constituency. Rs 26 crore hase been sanctioned for the increased storage capacity of the Yellammakunta reservoir,” he added.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, who hails from the same mandal, has promised to see that Parvathagiri mandal would occupy the first place in terms of development in the State. “I will strive to make Parvathagiri mandal as a role model in the State by getting more funds for its development,” he added.

Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that Rs 150 crore had already been sanctioned for the development of the roads in Wardhannapet constituency. “There are also proposals for Rs 150 crore for the road development. Chief Minister KCR was according priority for the development of Warangal after Hyderabad city,” he added.

MLA Konda Surekha said that Rs 9.5 crore has been allotted for the development works of Vanchanagiri village and recalled their association with the village.
MLAs A Ramesh, Ch Dharma Reddy, MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and others attended the programme.
