Hyderabad: Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy said more fire stations would be established in different areas across the State. The focus will be on establishing fire stations in Assembly constituencies, which lack such facilities.
At present, there are 96 fire stations across the State. Of these, about 30 stations are functioning in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.
Replying to a question by TRS MLA G Kishore Kumar on the need to upgrade existing fire outposts into full-fledged fire stations, the Minister replied positively.
Explaining further, Reddy said the government was focusing on strengthening the Fire Services Department. To this effect, 121 two-wheeler fire tenders were procured and supplied to all fire stations in the State.
