Hyderabad: Support from Gulf migrants is growing manifold for TRS party back home, thanks to the TRS Mission campaign launched by the TRS NRI wing where the Gulf migrants are calling their family members and asking them to cast their vote for TRS in the upcoming elections. Several NRI teams are also touring the State campaigning on behalf of TRS candidates.
In the last couple of days, the TRS NRI wing launched TRS Mission campaign at Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The Telangana NRIs from these branches are visiting labour camps and campaigning across the Gulf region, encouraging the migrants to call their families over phone and persuade them to vote for TRS. Telangana NRI Juvvadi Srinivasa Rao is coordinating with his counterparts in the said countries for effective campaigning.
TRS NRI coordinator Mahesh Bigala expressed happiness over successful run of TRS Mission campaign. He said Gulf migrant workers and their families are rallying behind TRS. Nearly 10 lakh migrant workers of Telangana are working in different Gulf countries where majority of them and their family members living across Telangana promised to vote for TRS. He recalled that the response was similar to the call given by TRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao during separate State agitation.
Most of the Gulf migrant workers’ families back in Telangana depend on agriculture and beedi making, and were benefited from schemes like Aasara pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, uninterrupted power, Mission Kakatiya and other schemes.
“TRS party also helped 1,278 Gulf workers who had died there and very recently with the initiative of KCR during UAE Amnesty, brought back more than 500 workers by paying their airfares. On experiencing the welfare measures first hand, the Gulf migrants and their families are coming out in support of TRS,” Mahesh Bigala said.
