After a long wait for a suitable date, actor Rahul Ravindran joined the box office race with ‘Howrah Bridge’ competing with ‘Chalo’ and ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’.
It’s about love trapped in a long wait and then unexpectedly getting entangled when the right time comes for two hearts to beat as one.
The story for director Rewon Yadhu’s movie takes off in Kolkata and moves to revolve around Machavaram village in East Godavari. Arjun (Rahul Ravindran), a civil engineer, who has been waiting for his ladylove for the past 18 years lands in Machavaram to meet Sweety (Chandini Chowdary). But, after professing his love to Sweety, he realises that she is not the one for whom he has been searching! The sudden shift by Arjun turns the life of Sweety upside down. The remaining story is about what happens to their love lives!
The plot does seem interesting but it fails in execution. The lead characters lack required foundation and failing to evolve properly, end up fluctuating the narrative. They suffer for want of credibility.
Rao Ramesh steals the show while Ajay looks at his usual best. When it comes to the lead pair, Rahul Ravindran has nothing big to showcase through his role and Chandini impresses in terms of looks than her performance.
