Mancherial: Peddapalli MP Balka Suman lashed out at TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy for faulting redesigning of irrigation projects. He challenged Reddy to prove flaws in alterations of the designing.
He was addressing a gathering of Rythu Bandhu cheque distribution programme held in Rechini village of Thandur manal on Wednesday.
Suman termed the ongoing Rythu Bandhu scheme as a ritual to make farmer as a king. He recalled that the farmers were forced to end lives following poor irrigation facilities coupled with low prices for their produce during the regimes of Congress.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao vowed to better the lives of farmers and accordingly, he took a slew of measures for changing the face of the agriculture sector, he remarked.
But, leaders of the Congress party are not realising the efforts put in by Rao. While taking Praja Chaitanya Yatra in erstwhile Adilabad, they are constantly making invalid statements against the TRS-led government. “I challenge Uttam Kumar Reddy to prove his remarks, made during the latter’s tour to Kumram Bheem Asifabad. If he is wrong, he should rub his nose to the land at a junction in Mancherial. Else, I will do the same,” he announced.
The Parliamentarian further criticised the Congress party for alleging TRS of renaming the under construction irrigation projects. He said that TRS-led government had not changed names of any irrigation project, but redesigned them with the aim to benefit farmers of the State.
Suman informed that 50,000 acres of agriculture fields in Bellampalli and 70,000 acres of Chennur Assembly Constituencies would be irrigated once Dr BR Ambedkar Pranahita-Chevella Sujala Sravanthi project, being erected across Pranahita river at Thumdi Hatti in Koutala mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, was completed.
