Nizamabad: The State government was committed to the uplift of the Golla Kumuma community, said Nizamabad MP K Kavitha.
Speaking at the Golla Kuruma Mahasabha here, she said the government had initially distributed nearly 60 lakh sheep to the community, and later it distributed another 20 lakh.
She also said the Sheep and Goat Development Federation was successfully running.
Federation chairman Rajaiaha Yadav urged the government to provide land for constructing markets at Bodhan and Nizamabad so that they get better price for their products.
Kavitha also sanctioned Rs 50 lakh each to Golla and Kuruma communities for their community buildings at Bodhan. She asked them to go for insurance of their sheep and goats.
Bodhan MLA MD Shakel Amer, Federation chairman Rajaiah Yadav, and Golla Kuruma union leader Markanti Bhoomana participated in the meeting.
