Israeli electronic music artiste Hod Moshonov popularly known as BEMET is back with his ‘The sababa tour’.
Here is a little chit-chat with this foreign artiste
Why BEMET? Is there any story behind this stage name?
BEMET actually means ‘for real’ in Hebrew language. Back in the day this name was given to me by an electronic artist, Borgore. I kept it as I really loved the name.
Who is your inspiration?
There are many things that inspire me. I take inspiration from Bollywood films of all kinds, Michael Jordan, Prince, Bugs Bunny and Charlie parker. I really like Nucleya and of course I like everything that comes with rhythm to it. I also have a special interest in Arabic and Egyptian movies.
Where do you enjoy performing the most? What is your favourite venue?
The BEMET show has very hectic kind of a vibe. It is supposed to be performed in front of not less than thousand audience and big festivals. But the biggest things happen in the smallest places. The other day we performed in Indore for not more than 500 audiences and it was a huge hit! So ya, it all depends on the audience and their energy not the place.
Tell us about your new track ‘chakadi’?
My new track ‘chakadi’ will be featuring Indian-Israeli Singer Liora Itzhak. She used to be a Bollywood singer in the 90’s and she was born in Israel while both her parents are from India. She is pretty famous in Israel as a singer. This track has a middle-eastern and electronic touch to it. And it’s about to be a big hit!
Is there anything you would want to do outside music?
I really want to do a voice over for the children’s movies. It is very interesting to give a voice over.
Finally, which track is running in your mind right now?
I am really into this artist called Raja Kumari. She is an Indian rapper. And I really want to collaborate with this amazing
