On the occasion, the people visited the graveyard and laid flowers on the graves of the departed and remembered them.
With the summer on, there was shortage of rose flowers, as people generally buy it for laying the petals on the graves. Businessmen made a killing by selling it at a higher price compared to the regular days.
On part of the administration, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and TS Wakf Board officials cleaned up the graveyard. Temporary lighting arrangements were made by the managing committees of the graveyard to facilitate the people visiting the place during the night.
