My Home launches new cement product

The new cement improves concrete’s workability and cohesiveness, lowering heat of hydration and reducing surface cracks.

Hyderabad: My Home Industries, a flagship business unit of Rs 4,000 crore My Home Group, has announced MAHA HD+ Cement. My Home Industries’ Managing Director Ranjith Rao Jupally launched the new cement product in the market on Tuesday.

MAHA HD+, manufactured using quality of clinker and very low levels magnesia, sulphur, alkalies and chloride, gains strength over time and gives durability to the structure. it is manufactured using special mineral admixtures and is superior compared to other regular cement.

“The market is changing and the demand for quality product to support the construction industry in India is growing. MAHA HD+ will bring positive effects to the construction landscape and beyond,” he said.

The new cement improves concrete’s workability and cohesiveness, lowering heat of hydration and reducing surface cracks. It provides greater protection of embedded steel and is ideal for coastal constructions. The alkali-aggregate reaction is reduced due to low alkali content.

“MAHA HD+ exhibits durability, long term strength and high resistance to difficult environment constructions. These properties it a preferred choice for residential to large infrastructure projects and projects exposed to seawater environment,” said Vijay Vardhan Rao, President – Marketing, My Home Industries.

My Home Industries had set up its first cement plant in Mellacheruvu in Nalgonda district in Telangana. It has an annual production capacity of 3.2 million tonnes. In 2009, the company set up a cement grinding unit in Mulkalapalli in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh, with an annual capacity of 2 million tonnes. In 2013, Sree Jayajyothi Cements was added as a 100% subsidiary of My Home Industries.

With the commencement of fourth cement unit in Tuticorin of Tamilnadu, the installed capacity of My Home Industries has gone up to 10 million tonnes per annum, making it one of the largest cement producers in South India. The company has plans to expand its capacity in future.

My Home Industries is a 50:50 joint venture with CRH (Ireland), the second largest building materials company in the world. My Home Industries covers Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, Bengal & Maharashtra. It also exports to Srilanka and Bangladesh, a release said.
