Naari Shakti Motorcycle Expedition flagged-in at MCEME Secunderabad

The expedition was flagged off from 3 EME Centre, Bhopal on November 28 and made its way through Mhow, Vadodara, Mumbai, Pune, Solapur to culminate at Secunderabad after covering about 1,720 km across four States.

Hyderabad: The Naari Shakti Motorcycle Expedition of six women army officers of the Corps of EME was flagged-in by Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh, Commandant MCEME and Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME at MCEME, Secunderabad on Thursday.

The expedition was flagged off from 3 EME Centre, Bhopal on November 28 and made its way through Mhow, Vadodara, Mumbai, Pune, Solapur to culminate at Secunderabad after covering about 1,720 km across four States. Part of the 10th Reunion celebrations of Corps of EME being celebrated this week, the objective of the expedition was to generate awareness about ‘Woman Empowerment (Naari Shakthi)’, ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padao’ and also to motivate young girls to join the Indian Army, according to a press release.

Through their seven-day sojourn, the expedition team which included Captain KU Roji, Lieutenant Priya Kashyap, Major Deepti Bhatt, Major Gazelle Sareen, Major RK Nirban and the expedition leader Lieutenant Manmeet Kaur, interacted with Veer Naaris, Armed Forces veterans and school and college students.

The flagged-in ceremony was attended by Amala Akkineni, film actress and co-founder Blue Cross Hyderabad and athlete Dutee Chand, the release added.
