With Sailaja Reddy Alludu releasing today, the lead actor Naga Chaitanya is relaxed and hopes to connect more deeply with the audience via his character. The out and out family entertainer is directed by Maruthi and produced by S Radha Krishna, Naga Vamsi S, PDV Prasad under the banner of Sithara Entertainments. Apart from Naga Chaitanya, Anu Emmanuel and Ramya Krishnan will be essaying important roles, while Vennela Kishore, Naresh, Murali Sharma, and Prudhvi Raj will appear in supporting roles.

About his role, the actor says, “After Rarandoi Veduka Chudham, I was eager to act in a family entertainer and I am glad I chose this film. Maruthi’s characters are always super fun and energetic so the audience will get to see me in a new light. I play a young college pass out who is dealing with his father’s ego and then ends up meeting a girl who is also quite egoistic.”

When asked about pulling off a role that is out of his comfort zone, Chaitanya explains, “I trust Maruthi’s characterisation as a director and Chinababu garu’s judgement as a producer so that was a big decision-making factor for me. When I saw the tremendous response that we received on the pre-release event Sailaja Reddy Alludu, I felt very happy with the outcome.”

It is sheer coincidence that this film and Samantha’s U Turn are clashing at the BO on September 13. Chaitanya doesn’t feel the competition. In fact he goes on to say that U Turn had locked on the release date long before they did. “Film release date shouldn’t change for many reasons. Due to unavoidable circumstances, ours did, and we are releasing along with U Turn, but Sam and I feel that they are two different movies and genres. It is better because the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy diverse content this festival season,” says the actor.

Ramya Krishnan is a powerful performer and she was a part of some of Chaitanya’s favourite films like Hello Brother. He initially felt nervous to share screen space with her but she was very supportive to him.

Not just this, September will be an ‘Akkineni-special’ month with releases from Nagarjuna (Devadas), Samantha (U Turn) and Chaitanya (Sailaja Reddy Alludu).
