Visakhapatnam: Rajya Sabha member and YSR Congress general secretary V Vijaysai Reddy alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu had dispatched Rs 1,200 crore to Telangana for distributing it among voters in connection with the December 7 Assembly elections.
Addressing a media conference here on Tuesday, he noted that this was part of the deal struck by the TDP with the Congress.
“During the Karnataka elections, hundreds of crores was sent there in transport buses owned by TDP MPs. Now, Chandrababu is sending Rs 1,200 crore — Rs 10 crore for each constituency — for the Telangana elections. That is why, in the poll advertisements of the Congress, the photograph of Chandrababu is shown much bigger than the rest,” he pointed out, adding that it was now made clear as to why the TDP president had sent his lieutenant Revant Reddy to join the Congress in Telangana in a pre-planned move ahead of elections.
Vijaysai Reddy also alleged that Chandrababu had sent Rs 500 crore each to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh for disbursement among voters there. “In the next general elections in 2019, he will give
Rs 5,000 crore as his national share under the TDP-Congress alliance, and he has already promised this to AICC president Rahul Gandhi,” he stated.
Naidu could mobilise all these funds thanks to the plunder in the name of Pushkarams, State capital, IT, land scams, sand mafia, employment guarantee schemes, Chandranna Kanuka, etc., he said, adding that so far Rs 4 lakh crore had been amassed by the TDP president.
What was looted in AP was being spent in elections in other States and also in the elections to be held in Andhra Pradesh soon, he said.
In this context, Vijaysai Reddy recalled how Naidu had claimed he would pay Rs 5,000 per vote during the Nandyal byelection in Andhra Pradesh. For about 2.5 crore voters in AP, the TDP president had earmarked Rs 15,000 crore, he stated.
“I will tell you from where and when the money will be transported. The people behind this are Rajesh, Srinivas, Gopi, Yerapathineni Srinivasa Rao, Subbarao and others who are with Pappunaidu, and they will transport the money bags. It is for the people to recover their own public money,” he said.
On the rampant corruption in Andhra Pradesh, the MP said Chandrababu had his commission at a whopping 40 per cent in every tender. “He says he is as pure as fire. Brands those who defected from the TDP in Telangana as traitors. But will not say anything about the 23 MLAs he purchased in AP. I am told that apart from legal action, he was also contemplating criminal action on me. I am not afraid. People cannot be bought with money. They know what Chandrababu is doing, and they will teach the TDP a fitting lesson in the elections,” he said.
