Nalgonda: District Collector Dr Gaurav Uppal on Thursday instructed officials to complete arrangements for the counting of votes for ZPTC and MPTC elections, which would be conducted on May 27.
The District Collector held the meeting with Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs), Returning Officers, Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) and Tasildars at Udhyaditya Bhavan on the premises of the District Collectorate.
Gaurav Uppal said that Nodal Officers would be appointed to oversee the counting of Zilla Parishad elections at revenue division level. Fire fighting vehicles would be deployed by Fire Department at the counting centres as a precautionary. The Municipal and Rural Water Supply (RWS) departments should work in coordination to provide drinking water and maintaining sanitation at the counting centres. He instructed the Executive Engineers of RWS
departments to drinking supply water to counting centres through water tanks.
He said that officials of Panchayat Raj department should take responsibility of setting up barricades at the counting centres. At the same time, special focus would be laid for providing lighting facility and required furniture at the counting centres. Indenting cards would be issued to counting agents of the contesting candidates by May 25. After police verification, the candidates, who don’t have criminal history, would only allowed as counting agents, he made it clear.
Stating that results of the counting would be placed in Te-Poll portal from time to time, he told that the entire votes counting process would be videographed in addition to webcasting.
Zilla Parisad Chief Executive Officer K Veerabrahma Chary, Project Director of Housing department Raj Kumar and RDOs of Nalgonda, Devarakonda and Miryalaguda were also attended the meeting.
