Nanded-Tirupati derails, no casualty

Hyderabad: The derailment of an engine and a bogie of Nanded-Tirupati Special Train (Train No.07607) between Mudhked and Sivungaon on Tuesday night resulted in partial cancellation or diversion of several trains on the Nanded – Nizamabad section of South Central Railway.

The incident took place when a motorcyclist, who was crossing the railway line, abandoned his vehicle on seeing the fast approaching train. There were no casualties, according to a railway spokesman.

The authorities said the incident took place at 8.27 pm when the train hit the bike and such was the impact that its engine and the immediate bogie jumped off the tracks but miraculously there were no injuries.

The partially cancelled train details are: Train No. 57562 Manmad-Kacheguda Passenger between Manmad and Rotegao stations on Thursday.

The following trains have been rescheduled: Train No. 07608 Tirupati-Nanded Special train scheduled to depart at 3.45 pm on Wednesday will not depart at 6 am on Thursday.

Train No. 17405 Tirupati-Adilabad Krishna Express scheduled to depart from Tirupati at 5.25 am on Thursday will depart at 4 pm on the same day.
