Narsapur town will get a facelift: Harish

Officials asked to chalk out plans for construction of vegetable, meat markets, sports complex and modernisation of lake

Medak: Finance Minister T Harish Rao, who visited Narsapur Municipality as part of Pattana Pragathi programme in Medak district on Sunday, instructed the officials and elected representatives to chalk out proposals for various projects such as vegetable and meat markets, sports complex, modernisation of lake and construction of school building.

The Minister inspected a small lake located near the bus station, vegetable and meat markets, bus depot, junior college ground, open drains and other places in the town. Collector K Dharma Reddy, MLA C Madan Reddy, Municipal Chairman, Yerrolla Murali Yadav, Former Minister Sunithalakshma Reddy and officials accompanied the Minister.

Asking the officials to visit the vegetable and meat markets constructed in Siddipet and Gajwel towns, Rao asked them to prepare a proposal for building a model Rythu Bazar, where besides vegetables, meat and fish should also be made part of it. Rao said the government would grant Rs 5 crore budget to build the Model Rythu Bazar in Narsapur.

He also directed them to come up with a proposal to build a sports complex in junior college ground, which will have an indoor badminton court, football ground, volleyball ground, 800 meter running track, open gym and several others. Rao also asked the officials to develop a walking track on the bund of small lake located close to the bus station. The officials were instucted to prevent the drain water flowing into the lake. He also promised to complete two under-construction primary school buildings before the academic year begins in June.

Reviewing the progress of RTC depot works in Narsapur, Rao, who spoke to TSRTC MD, Sunil Sharma over the phone, asked him to complete the construction within three months. To put a permanent end to drinking water woes of Narsapur, the Minister said Telangana government had granted Rs 25 crore to supply drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha from Komatibanda located near Gajwel to Narsapur. Additional Collector Nagesh, RDO Aruna and others were present.
