Nava Bharat reaches out to 10,000 families affected by lockdown

Kothagudem: Paloncha based Nava Bharat Ventures Limited has extended a helping hand to the poor families affected by corona lockdown in and around Paloncha in Kothagudem district.

The company has so far distributed rice to nearly 10,000 families who lost their livelihood following the announcement of lockdown, the company Vice President Y Srinivasa Murthy informed Telangana Today on Sunday.

He said as part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative the company has laid focus on assisting the daily wagers and poorer sections for whom it has become tough to make the ends meet. As many as 40 villages and colonies were covered for the past few months.

In a programme at Yerragunta near Paloncha the company Deputy General Manager B Rama Rao and General Manager (Civil) MGM Prasad distributed five kilograms of rice each to nearly 300 poor families. The officials also explained to them about the precautionary measures to contain the spread of coronavirus. The company officials VV Rajeswar Rao, Ratna Kishore, Suresh Chandra and others were present.

It may be noted that the company as part of its CSR initiative has also been providing employment to women from poorer sections engaging them in the manufacturing of face masks through its Nava Bharat Women Empowerment Centre at Paloncha.
