Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting will be held only after the Election Commission gives the green signal, according to Chief Secretary to AP Government L V Subrahmanyam.
Responding to reports that the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had announced that the Cabinet would meet on May 10, despite the prevailing model code of conduct in the State, he said he had received a note from the CM’s Principal Secretary with regard to the Cabinet meeting. He also disclosed that he had requested the CM to inform him what decisions the Cabinet proposed to take on that day.
The CS said he had asked the CM’s secretary to inform Chandrababu Naidu in detail the Election Commission’s rules. The agenda of the Cabinet would be examined and sent to the EC and only after the latter’s approval, the Cabinet meeting would be held, he revealed. The EC would need at least 48 hours to examine and take decision in such cases, he said.
