Neglected old woman rescued by Mahabubnagar police

The old woman was residing on the second floor of a retired government employee’s house in Mettugadda locality of Mahabubnagar town

Mahabubnagar: A 90-year-old woman abandoned by her son was rescued by the Mahabubnagar police after locals called in the police in the town on Wednesday.

The old woman was residing on the second floor of a retired government employee’s house in Mettugadda locality of Mahabubnagar town.

She was left in an open place in front of a bathroom constructed underneath the stairs of the building, where she has been braving cold weather. She was having injuries on her body.

Local journalists brought the issue to the notice of Mahabubnagar police. DSP Sridhar, along with police personnel, rescued the old woman and provided medical assistance to her. The police said they would initiate further action against the old lady’s son.
