Hyderabad: The State government decided to construct an integrated Secretariat complex at the Bison Polo Ground to enable the people to get better and easy access to the government, Roads and Buildings Minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao said on Wednesday.

“The Union government, respecting this decision, decided to transfer the land to the State government,” Rao told mediapersons in Khammam.

Slamming the opposition for making false allegations and opposing construction of the state-of-the-art Secretariat complex at Bison Polo Ground, the Minister said: What is wrong in having a comfortable and integrated Secretariat building for the new State? Administration has become a problem because various government offices are located in different places and their coming together will only ensure speedy administration.

Asserting that the new Secretariat building will come up at Bison Polo Ground, he said: The opposition can create hurdles but they can’t stall the construction process. After several requests, the Central government agreed to transfer the Bison Polo Grounds to the State government and it is committed to construct the new Secretariat in the same place, he said.

He questioned the opposition leaders for staging a protest at the Bison Polo Ground when they can’t even think of having a modern Secretariat for the State.
