Nizamabad: Police arrested three persons who were allegedly involved in a gang-rape case and are searching for another four, who are also involved in the case and recorded videos of the crime at Sarangapoor under Sixth Town police station limits in Nizamabad.
On Friday, seven persons gang-raped a 22-year-old woman belonging to Gundaram village of Nizamabad rural mandal. Suresh, a resident of Sarangapoor village and auto driver, loved a woman belonging to Gundaram village. On Friday, he brought the woman to the forest area near Sarangapoor Hanuman temple and forced her to have sex. After this he called his six friends who raped the woman and sent her to her native village. Some of the accused recorded the rape on their phones.
A police patrol vehicle passing through the way to conduct enquiry in another case, observed that a few persons were eagerly watching videos on their cellphones, by sitting in their autos in the forest area. The police got suspicious and asked them what they were watching in the forest area at that hour. When the police questioned them further, they came out with the gang-rape incident.
After knowing about the incident, the police questioned the victim and she disclosed the entire incident and complained that seven people had raped her and recorded it on video. Later, police conducted an enquiry by registering a case and sent the victim to Nizamabad GGH for test.
Nizamabad ACP Srinivas Kumar said that they had formed a special team and were searching for accused persons. He expressed hope that the other four accused would be arrested soon.
