Hyderabad: There is an eerie silence at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday where the second Test between India and West Indies will be held from Friday. There is hardly any excitement or buzz which is usually associated with any international cricket match.
Even the usual official activity is missing as for the first time the match will be supervised by the High Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).
The CoA team of Justice (retd) Anil Dave, Justice GV Seetapathy (retd) and Ratnakar Shetty are managing the show with a few of HCA officials assisting them.
Although it is Dasara vacation where the schools and colleges are closed, there is not much of enthusiasm for this match. The HCA has made an announcement of allowing school children to watch the match free.
Perhaps, there could be a good crowd on Saturday and Sunday where these kids could watch their favourite cricketers like Indian captain Virat Kohli, who was conspicuously absent in the practice session on Wednesday.
