Sangareddy: With the nursery owners encroaching nearly half a kilometre service road along the BHEL boundary wall between Ramachandra Reddy Nagar to HIG entrance into BHEL township, the commuters are forced to take a wrong route on the stretch to enter the BHEL township causing several accidents.

Making things worse for road users, the nursery owners park their vehicles haphazardly on the busy National Highway-65 while unloading the saplings from the vehicles. The customers too, who come in hordes to purchase the saplings in view of the rainy season, also park their vehicles along the road blocking almost a third of the left side of NH-65 on the Patancheru side. Due to this, the road users are forced to take a wrong route to enter the BHEL Township triggering number of accidents on the stretch. Instead of forcing the nursery owners to vacate from the place to ensure a safe ride for BHEL employees and commuters, the RC Puram police are restricting themselves to collecting fines from motorists for taking the wrong route.

With the situation taking a worst turn as the nursery operators dumping more and more saplings on the road leaving no room for the vehicle navigation, the locals demanded the GHMC officials and police carry out a drive to remove all the encroachments without delay in order to curb the accidents on the stretch of the service road.

Speaking to Telangana Today, a commuter B Rajashekar, who uses the road every day, said, recently, a truck rammed into the nursery during the early hours. Luckily, the workers at the nursery escaped miraculously with minor injuries, he added. He urged the officials to remove all the encroachments on the road to help the denizens for the smooth and safe commuting.

Recently, a biker was injured after he was hit when a customer, who had parked his vehicle on the road to purchase saplings, suddenly opened door of his car to get down.
