One more cop tests positive for Covid-19 in Hyderabad

The cop, had cough for about five days and attended duty too. However, on Wednesday when he complained of high fever, he was advised to take leave and go for a medical check-up.

Hyderabad: An Additional Inspector (Detective Inspector) working at the Balapur police station has tested positive for Covid-19 here on Friday. He was down with fever and was on sick leave from Wednesday, officials said.

The cop had cough for about five days and attended duty too. However, on Wednesday when he complained of high fever, he was advised to take leave and go for a medical check-up.

Doctors tested him and in the results which were out on Friday, he was found to be positive. He was immediately shifted to Gandhi Hospital and his family members were home quarantined.

Following this, Rachakonda Police have got all the primary contacts tested and directed other officials and constables who were primary contacts to the infected person to be under home quarantine.

On their part, staff at the Balapur police station are taking precautionary measures such as use of sanitizers and masks apart from physical distancing.
