Another four accused Sheik Sadik, Srikanth Reddy, Anil and Bharath were at large. The police seized Rs 5 lakh cash and 15 cell phones from their possession.

Presenting the arrested before the media, the Superintendent of Police A V Ranganath said that Vemula Pulla Rao got the login access to aura24.bet mobile app by paying Rs 15,000 to a firm, which would monitor the online betting from Mumbai. Later, he engaged six persons as the distributors and was running the online betting by adding interested persons to the mobile app as players.

Fearing that police might trace their online activity, they met at Pulla Rao’s residence for direct betting on India-Australia cricket match, which was held on March 8.
