Hyderabad: Ridiculing the visit of the opposition leaders to the spot where a breach occurred on a peculiar position in the Jagadevpur canal that carries water from Kondapochamma, Public Undertaking Committee (PUC) chairman A Jeevan Reddy.  where are they when several projects in irrigation and otherwise took place in the past.

Addressing media here on Thursday, Jeevan Reddy said that the incident is unfortunate but it ridiculous to blame the Chief Minister for the breach as he himself has committed the crime. ” It has been depicted as the eighth wonder of the world. He has promised irrigation to 1.25 crore acres of land in 33 districts and the works are going on war footing,” he said.

He added that Kaleshwaram project is huge and one the biggest lift irrigation project in the world. The credit of completing it goes to the Chief Minister . “Now the entire opposition is making a a beeline to Kondapochamma. Do Congress leaders realize that the SRSP had a breach during their government,  Devadula pipes and Palem Project in Khammam also got breached , why so much noise now?” he asked. He also recalled the Panjagutta fly over accident when its collapsed over moving traffic.

He also criticized BJP for its double standards. ” The Sardar Sarovar Project in Gujarat has experienced breaches for 207 times. A part of Manoharabad rail line was washed out recently. Does it mean that we demand resignation of the Prime Minister and the Railway Minister,” Jeevan Reddy said. “In fact BJP is the address for benami transactions and Congress is for commissions,” Jeevan Reddy said.
