Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) is all set to conduct the undergraduate final semester examinations for its engineering, pharmacy, BHM&CT, BEd, BCA, DPEd BPEd, and BCT&CA courses from September 17 amidst strict Covid-19 safety protocols.

Instead of three hours, examinations will be held for two hours. Accordingly, the university has set the question paper and students will have more choices in the questions. For instance in the BE (CBCS), out of 10 questions, students have to answer five in section A, and four questions are to be answered out of seven in section B.

Issuing special instructions to students, the OU said no student will be allowed to enter examination halls without face mask and they must continue to wear the mask throughout the exam. Students have been advised to carry personal sanitiser and must maintain physical distancing in the exam halls. Candidates experiencing cough, cold, fever, etc. must inform the exam chief superintendent.

OU has asked chief superintendents of colleges where exam centres are located to strictly adhere to Covid safety protocols, sanitise the rooms/premises before and after every exam session. College authorities were instructed to thermal screen all candidates entering the college premises.

The university said it will conduct another special examination, as and when feasible, for such students who are not able to appear for all examinations of the semester/year for reasons of health or other unavoidable situations.

The colleges, according to the university, can hold second internal test, if not conducted already, in online/offline or blended mode. Likewise, the university entrusted the job of conducting practical examination in offline/online mode to the respective colleges. The colleges were also given the provision of conducting project/seminar/internships viva in online mode.

Meanwhile, OU has re-scheduled IV semester exams of BPEd (Sports management and Concepts of Yoga) and DPEd (Sports injuries and Rehabilitation, and Organisation and Administration of Physical Education) subjects on September 23 and 28.
Similarly, BEd IV semester exams (Contemporary Education in India, and Environmental Education: Issues and Concerns) subjects are on September 28 and October 1. These exams were earlier scheduled on September 15 and 17. The university will conduct MBA (CBCS) IV-semester (regular, backlog and improvement) exams from October 6 to 12.
