Visakhapatnam: Pomp and fanfare marked the filing of nomination by film star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan in Gajuwaka on Thursday. Thousands of enthusiasts, who included JSP and Left party workers besides film buffs, accompanied their hero who drove in a campaign car to the Gajuwaka zonal office of the corporation where he filed papers for contesting from the Gajuwaka Assembly constituency in the industrial belt of the city.
With the Holi festival coinciding on occasion, it saw revellers splashing colours all along. Later, addressing a public meeting at Lanka grounds, Pawan Kalyan said that he has special love for Vizag, particularly Gajuwaka where he has lot of fans since long. He promised to develop Gajuwaka as the top township in the State if he was elected. Already, Visakhapatnam had a fine reputation in the country as an industrial hub and once Gajuwaka records all-round growth, the city would develop further, he opined.
