People suggested to favor generic medicines to save money

Nalgonda: Stating that generic medicines were also quality ones on par with branded medicines and available with less price, the district Collector Gaurav Uppal has suggested the people to favor to purchase generic medicines that would also save money.

The district Collector has inaugurated generic medicine shop of Red Cross Society at Shivaji Nagar in Nalgonda on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Uppal stated that quality standards would be maintained in manufacturing of generic medicines, which would made with same composition of branded medicines. He assured that district administration would extend the help and cooperation to those who would come forward to setup generic medical   shops. 

Red Cross Society district president Goli Amarender Reddy reminded that their generic shop at Shivaji Nagar was second one as they were already running such medical shop near bus stand. He informed that another generic medical shop would be opened on Devarakonda road in the town soon.

Efforts on for launching Telemedicine system

Earlier, the district Collector has also launched digital x-ray facility at Government District Hospital in Nalgonda

Stating that Digital X-Ray facility was launched in the government hospital with the help of Care Foundation, Hyderabad, the district Collector informed that digital X-rays and digital CT scans of the patients would be sent to Care Foundation through online and in return the foundation would end the diagnostic report to the district hospital. It would enable the Doctors to extend the treatment to the patients earlier.

The district Collector has also inspected the construction of ICU block and toilets in the hospital. He has also instructed the officials concerned to complete the works of setting up of RO plant in the hospital within two-days and supply the water to people.

Govt District Hospital Superintendent Naringa Rao and others were also present.
